Dr. Omar Saeed Baghabra Al-Amoudi is currently a Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He was the Dean of Educational Services and the Deputy Dean of Graduate Studies and the Manager, Engineering Analysis Section at the Center for Engineering Research, Research Institute, KFUPM. Dr. Al-Amoudi obtained his BSc., MSc. and Ph.D. degrees (with A GPA of 3.92, 3.80 and 4.00) from KFUPM in 1982, 1985 and 1992, respectively, all with FIRST HONOUR.
Prof. Al-Amoudi was one of the founding members of the American Concrete Institute-Saudi Arabia Chapter (ACI-SAC) and was serving in its Board of Directors. He was also a Board Member of the Saudi Society of Civil Engineering (SSCE) for two terms (six years) and a Board Member of the Saudi Council of Engineers (three years).
He has conducted extensive research on durability of plain and blended cements in sulfate and/or chloride environments as well as on appropriate test methodologies and stabilization pertinent to indigenous soils, particularly the sabkhas in eastern and western Saudi Arabia. His current research interests include hot-weather concreting, corrosion of reinforcing steel and sulfate attack, corrosion inhibitors, assessment of reinforced concrete structures using PGNAA and laser techniques, and utilization of supplementary cementing materials.
Prof. Al-Amoudi has authored more than 200 papers in reputed journals and conferences and the winner of KFUPM Excellence Awards in: Research (twice), Teaching & Advising and Community Services (twice). He won three regional awards and one international award (CANMET-ACI) for his contribution in the field of concrete durability and soil stabilization. He has coordinated several successful short courses for several organizations. He is the advisor/examiner of several MSc thesis and PhD dissertation students at KFUPM and abroad including Australia, UK (twice), Sudan (twice), Malaysia (twice), Kuwait, Saudi Arabia (King Abdulaziz University), Iraq and India. Prof. Al-Amoudi has served with several organizations in eastern and western Saudi Arabia as a technical consultant. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the refereed Arabic Journal of Building Technology, and a regular reviewer of several international journals.

In August 1986, obtained with Honors, Degree in Bachelor of science in Civil Engineering Technology (B.Sc., Civil) from Savannath State College, USA.
• In May 1988, obtained the part two certificate (i.e. practical applications) in Concrete Technology and Constriction from the City and Guild of London Institute.
• In May 1988, obtained the part one certificate(i.e. general principles) in Concrete Technology and Construction from the City and Guilds of London Institute.
• In July 1992, obtained Diploma in Advanced Concrete Technology from the Institute of Concrete Technology, UK.

• April 1998 to present: Established Advanced Concrete Products Co. Ltd., and work as Managing Partner looking after all operations including Sales & Marketing, Production , Administration, Logistic, Accounts and Audit.
• February 1987 to 1998 worked with Saudi Ready Mix as area Technical supervisor, then (in 1989) promoted to area Technical Manager and finally (In 1992) promoted to company Technical Manager. The work include setting up QA & QC Program, major contract specifications review and sales and production support.
